Ella B Rowe is a proud Wamiran woman from Milne Bay Province, PNG and Australian descent. The founder of Elvies Studios in Collingwood, a salon space named after her mother, she centers BIPOC clientele who share personal and collective hair stories, creating a safe space and community to embrace and celebrate their natural curly, afro, textured and coily hair. Ella is passionate about natural hair care, curly hair education and engaging with community to source products, knowledge, resources and collaborations to provide for identities whom have not had the privilege of receiving accessible natural hair services before now.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation.
