Feifei Liao

Feifei Liao was born and raised in China, currently based in Melbourne. She is a multidisciplinary lived-experience theatre and film producer, co-founder of ‘Story is Connection’ and founder of ‘Feifei Curiosity.’ She is a contemporary dancer grounded in Butoh and trance. By applying a poetic, abstract and often metaphorical language, she evokes audiences to dive into a mesmerising world to explore meaningful moments and memories involving engaging with daily life objects, discovering potential meanings of life and multifaceted self-existence. Her works often focus on transporting individuals between time and space, negotiating dimensional relativity to allow embarking on a personalised journey.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
