IKSRE

IKSRE aka Naarm/Melbourne-based vocalist, violist, producer and sound healer, Phoebe Dubar. She combines field recordings from the Australian bush with lush strings, swirling synths and looped vocals to create a unique sound which sits somewhere between ambient, neoclassical and new age music.

“Her sound palette lies at the delicate intersection of the natural world in fissure with atmospheric electronics and instruments. Much like Phillip Glass or Ryuichi Sakamoto, Dubar’s way with a subtle shift into an irregular rhythm, a harmonic modulation or change in articulation, tricks the listener into a trance.” – The Wire Magazine

Phoebe (IKSRE) is also a qualified Sound Healer (grad Sound Healing Academy Cornwall) and facilitates sound baths across Victoria and online, and has a private practice at her home. She will bring this knowledge to the event.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
