ITHINKSHEAFREAK – Kaydee Kyle-Taylor

Face of Australia Season 2

Kaydee Kyle-Taylor is one of the leading First Nation Pro MUA within Australia and small business owner of ITHINKSHEAFREAK. She formed her business back in 2016 while completing her beauty diploma in specialist makeup artistry. Kaydee noticed during this time at beauty school the huge lack of representation of First Nation people within the beauty and cosmetic industry as well as the lack of knowledge on how to work with BIPOC clientele. She has since dedicated her work in specialising in and catering to BIPOC clientele and raising awareness of what the beauty industry is lacking when it comes to BIPOC.

Her latest campaigns she has been featured in includes Ruchi Pages Face of Australia Season 2, Global Shades movement and recently being contracted with Victoria Secret Australia as a First Nation plus size talent.

Aside from running her business and creating her beauty empire, she also dedicates herself to working full time in education as an Aboriginal Coordinator at a high school in Melbourne’s North. Within this role she supports the wellbeing and academics of young Aboriginal women ages 12-18 with providing programs around confidence, resilience, mental/sexual health and career pathways all through a cultural lens. Coming into her third year in this role she has managed to not only provide cultural safety to the Aboriginal students at the school but also increase their school engagement, attendance and attitudes towards school.

In both her careers Kaydee is heavily influenced and finds strength in her culture and the staunch women in community as well as her fellow WOC.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
