Karl Fender

Kristoffer Paulsen

Founding partner of Fender Katsalidis and an avowed urbanist, Karl Fender and the FK team have made significant contributions to the architectural landscape in Australia and across the globe.

Seeking to improve the liveability of cities through the buildings and precincts he helps create, Karl has played a central role in the design of major urban projects including Eureka Tower in Melbourne, Midtown Centre in Brisbane, and the world’s second-tallest building, Merdeka 118 in Malaysia.

Karl’s diverse background and extensive international experience have informed his commitment to urbanisation and architecture’s contribution to the public realm. Karl continues to play an active role within the wider design community.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
