Troy Innocent

Innocent is an urban play scholar, artist gamemaker, RMIT Research Fellow, and creator of 64 Ways of Being, an urban adventure platform blending live art, game design and public art. Based at RMIT University, his work connects code, language, urban play and mixed realities. Innocent develops augmented reality games that blend physical objects with digital interfaces to reimagine public spaces in playful ways; situating his work in Melbourne, Bristol, Barcelona, Istanbul, Ogaki, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong. Working with the city as a material, his practice explores ways of being that reimagine, remake and reconnect with the world.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
