Join artist and textile designer Elieen Braybrook for a ‘Visible Mending’ workshop. Eileen rescues discarded knitwear and gives them a new life through visible mending practices. Bring along your old knits and give them a second life through learning Eileen’s darning and repair techniques.
Learn about the small ways we can repurpose and reuse ever increasing textile waste and how we can contribute to a rethinking design processes and production to move towards a more sustainable future.
This workshop is presented in conjunction with the Australian Tapestry Workshop’s 2022 Melbourne Design Week exhibition ‘Mass Reduction’ which includes artists who offer creative and innovative alternative approaches to confronting textile waste and modes of mass production.
This event is part of Melbourne Design Week 2022.
